Open call

Eivind Seljeseth is making new work in 2025 and is looking for collaborators; dance artists with a professional practice and experience within contemporary dance and improvisation. A strong interest and skill set in both creative- and performative work as well as individual- and collaborative processes is needed. We value diversity in artistic distinctiveness, cultural backgrounds, ages, levels of experience etc.

Thematically, the work is based in a continuous investigation of relationships between the shared and the individual, between the collective and the singular, between existential loneliness and fundamental recognition. Through work with a linguistic method that combines choreographic systems with bodily translations, a living, diverse and precise material is created, which connects individual choices together in a collective system. A system that (hopefully) continuously moves between order and chaos, pluralism and unity.

Main working periods are planned in the following weeks in 2025: 26, 32, 33, 34, 35 and 36
+ additional, more flexible days in May and June 2025.
Both the creation period and premiere showings will be done in Oslo.

Depending on the amount of applications, a selection will be done for further invitation to a physical workshop in Oslo on 01.12.24 (December 1st).
(if this date is not available for relevant candidates, we will try to find alternatives).

The work is paid. The production has no means to cover travel, accommodation or per diems for the creation period, so a base in Oslo, at least for that period, is needed.

Eivind Seljeseth is a dancer and choreographer based in Oslo. He strives to work project-specific, where processes, methods, artistic expressions and aesthetics are developed anew in each project, based on the individual art project's conceptual framework and the context in which it is situated. Eivind is concerned with how different materials, tools, forms and formats can be the subject of choreographic processing and together form a holistic choreographic practice. He actively relates to historical, theoretical, political and aesthetic matters in his artistic work and allows this to influence him and his work.

In the somatic work, Eivind is concerned with balancing a clean-cut accuracy in the communicative potential of the movement with allowing personal, less controllable expressions to slip through.

Eivind Seljeseth gjør et nytt arbeid i 2025 og søker samarbeidspartnere; dansekunstnere med profesjonell praksis og erfaring innen samtidsdans og improvisasjon. En sterk interesse for- og kompetanse i både kreativt og performativt arbeid, samt individuelle og samarbeidende prosesser er nødvendig. Vi verdsetter mangfold i kunstnerisk særegenhet, kulturell bakgrunn, alder, erfaringsnivå etc.

Arbeidets tematiske utgangspunkt står i en kontinuerlig undersøkelse av relasjoner mellom det delte og det individuelle, mellom det kollektive og det singulære, mellom eksistensiell ensomhet og grunnleggende gjenkjennelse. Gjennom arbeid med en språklig metode som kombinerer koreografiske systemer med kroppslige oversettelser, skapes et levende, mangfoldig og presist materiale, som knytter individuelle valg sammen i et kollektivt system. Et system som (forhåpentligvis) kontinuerlig beveger seg mellom orden og kaos, pluralisme og enhet.
